Privacy Policy

Dancingly ("Dancingly," "we," "us") is a product of 8 Count Content. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and password (handled securely through our authentication provider, Supabase; we never see or store your raw password).
Usage information. The themes, vibes, song titles, and filters you enter to search or curate music, along with which modes and features you use.
Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card number — we retain your subscription status, plan, and billing history as provided to us by Stripe.
Communications. If you contact us for support, we keep a record of that conversation.
Automatically collected information. Basic technical data like browser type, device type, and IP address, collected as part of normal web traffic.
How we use your information
- To provide and operate the service — running your searches, generating song suggestions, and managing your account
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- Search inputs (themes, vibes, song titles) are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate song suggestions — see Anthropic's own privacy practices for how they handle data sent to their API
- To send you service-related emails (billing receipts, account notices)
- To respond to support requests
- To understand how features are used, so we can improve the product
Who we share information with
We share information with the service providers who help us run Dancingly, and only for that purpose:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting
- Stripe — payment processing
- Anthropic — AI processing of search inputs to generate song suggestions
- Kit — to send emails keeping you updated on the latest news.
We don't sell your information to third parties.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we'll delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we're required to retain records (e.g. billing history for tax purposes).
Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your account information at any time by emailing us at kelly@dancingly.com or going to Manage Subscription when logged in to Dancingly.app. If you're a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA to know what personal information we hold and request its deletion. If you're in the EU/UK, you have similar rights under the GDPR.
Children's privacy
Dancingly is intended for adults working in dance education (teachers, choreographers, studio owners) and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
